With the cel shading applied to the ship, I created a few set pieces to put around the ship (cannon, lanterns, barrel) and then I was starting to work on the exterior of the captain's quarters. I was working on the window, but I wasn't really too happy with how it was turning out. The idea was that I was going to make it look like a cat's face (cat themed pirate ship), but I didn't really like how it was turning out, and creating the hole at the back for the window was very annoying to make.

Another annoying piece was working on the glass for the lanterns. They are currently clear glass, with a white sheen, which is fine, but I wanted transparent coloured glass, but I couldn't get that to work for me as the light couldn't get through.

I added ropes going along the masts and sails using cylinders. I placed each end of the cylinder to where I wanted them, and applied loop cuts and manipulated the vertices to add some slack in the ropes. This was a little more awkward than expected, trying to make it look like the rope is naturally hanging low, but I am happy with how it turned out. I did the ropes on one side of the ship, then copied and mirrored them on the other side.

I also added tears to the ship, and redid the colour a little to try out a ghost ship vibe. I did like how it looked, but just have the sails torn would look strange. I put it back to it's regular colour scheme. If I have time, I may redo the colours and edit the model to make a ghost ship version.
